"In short, OPE declares candidates to be pro- or anti-education without necessarily meeting or discussing issues with a candidate. The group doesn't spell out its policy positions. Its definition of “pro-education” can exclude public school teachers. And OPE doesn't always support candidates who appear to largely agree with the group on education issues."
